A decent, free DVD ripper to mp4 (iphone compatible)

After struggling for a while with DVD rippers that had audio synchronization problems, I happened upon one that can generate decent iphone compatible mp4 videos. It is called WinX free dvd to iphone ripper. The title of this blog entry has a link to its Cnet download page. It is relatively straightforward to use. After you install it, you simply put a dvd into your dvd drive, start the program, push the dvd button and push start. As a check box option, you can select to open a file explorer pointed to the path where the final file is stored. This makes it easy to copy the file anywhere you like. One tip though, make sure you disable subtitles (on the main page in a drop box) or you will have subtitles in your video. I plan to use it to rip my vacation videos to files to store on my iphone.
